Why I have not been updating my blog

Ryan and I have been super busy these last few weeks.

He has had project after project followed by finals. He has pulled all nighters 3 days in a row! He slept for a good 19 hours after that.

I have been working a second job helping a trucking company with updating their Quickbooks. Sounds like fun hu? I go to work at Cartridge World from 9-5 then work for Henniger Trucking until about 10:30.

But alas, yesterday we arived in Sunriver Oregan. There is about 3 feet of frosty white snow every where and warm weather, about in the 20s... Well warm from the 1-5 degree weather that we have been having in Pullman. We are staying at a time share with our good friends Carrie and Andrew. It has been nice to see old friends, sit back and relax, watch Ryan and Andrew cook us food as we lay in the hot tub style bath.

I am super excited to spend Christmas morning with my family.... I will make sure to add some photos of our relaxing vacay!

Car Accident

When ever I leave Kierstin's home she always tells me "be safe" and I look at her and think to myself 'yeah yeah yeah, mom'. She has always been very motherly and protective which is nice to have around when your own mother is not in town.

Saturday night 11:30 - I was driving down 3rd street (in Moscow) and there were two cars parked at the red light on the crossing street (Jackson). One was a huge SUV and the other a smaller car like mine. When I got closer they both started to go! I looked at my light assuming that I must have not noticed the light turn red, but I was wrong... I had a green light. So I swerved trying to avoid the collision but was not very successful. Successful enough, thankfully, to miss the SUV which would have hit the fount of my car, but not missing the smaller one. It hit hard enough to spin me around in the intersection... Luckily, I was on a one way street so there was no on coming cars to worry about.

I pulled over to the side of the road and the other two cars drove away! YES that's right... They drove AWAY! I was pissed! Its bad enough that I get into car accidents like every 6 months (or so it seems). But, this one was not my fault. Some people came up to me and I was almost in tears until one of the girls told me that she was the one who hit me. I guess she drove around the block and then came back. Who knows why. But she came back thats what matters.

I am alright but my car, not so much. Ryan and I are looking for a new one!

Book Review

I did not like this book. It was not my style so I lost interest very quickly. It was interesting how the lack of communication can change so much, even in something that is so natural. One part I liked....

"This is how the entire course of a life can be changed - by doing nothing."

So true. We are actively trying to improve our life for the better or we are letting life go by just watching. But most of the time we are to coward to do what needs to be done. Unfortunate.

This book, I loved. Its a love story and a novel of ideas. It made me think, and I like thinking every once in a while. This is just in the first chapter...

"Putting it negatively, the myth of eternal return states that a life which disappears once and for all, which does not return, is like a shadow, without weight, dead in advance, and whether it was horrible, beautiful, or sublime, its horror, sublimity, and beauty mean nothing. We need take no more note of it than of a war between two African kingdoms in the fourteenth century, a war that altered nothing in the destiny of the world, even if a hundred thousand blacks perished in excruciating torment."

Halloween 08

I had fun tonight with Kierstin and Blake... or should I say 'sun moon and winding river'? We made our own customs and Kierstin even sewed her dress... very authentic! Blake won the cutest baby award... of course he did!

Book Review - Twilight

So, I tried very hard to not read the hot new book that every one and their mom loves.... but once I started I could not stop. The first book was nice. Very sweet. You get to know the complicated life's of a teenage girl and a 'vegetarian' vampire. The way that Edward is addicted to Bella is something else. There is nothing like a love story with forbidden written all over it. I don't think there is more turmoil then wanting to be with someone and wanting to kill them at the same time. Why can't every man be like Edward? You know, except for the cold skin, mind reading, oh and the blood drinking?

---------------------------------------------------------

Ok, so I was pissed when Edward left her in this book. Who doesn't like Jacob? But still I prefer Edward on any given day... This one was not my favorite.

---------------------------------------------------------

The third book on the other hand was my favorite. Bella was torn between her 'Paris' and her 'Romeo' or her werewolf and her vampire.

---------------------------------------------------------

The last book was great... at first. You get your romantic wedding night, but then you get all into Jacobs mind. This book was very predictable. However I appreciated the fact that it did not leave you hanging on and dieing for more like the rest.

---------------------------------------------------------

So, all in all these were easy reads and addicting. I'm excited for the movie to come out, but I do not have high expectations.

Reading is fun!

Who knew that reading was so much fun? I feel like I have tapped into a new culture, a new way of spending time. Ryan has enjoyed watching me explore my new talent. Who knows if I will ever be able to beat his record of reading over 1200 pages in one day? But the question is, who has read 4 novels in 1 week? I have.
