Book Review

I did not like this book. It was not my style so I lost interest very quickly. It was interesting how the lack of communication can change so much, even in something that is so natural. One part I liked....

"This is how the entire course of a life can be changed - by doing nothing."

So true. We are actively trying to improve our life for the better or we are letting life go by just watching. But most of the time we are to coward to do what needs to be done. Unfortunate.

This book, I loved. Its a love story and a novel of ideas. It made me think, and I like thinking every once in a while. This is just in the first chapter...

"Putting it negatively, the myth of eternal return states that a life which disappears once and for all, which does not return, is like a shadow, without weight, dead in advance, and whether it was horrible, beautiful, or sublime, its horror, sublimity, and beauty mean nothing. We need take no more note of it than of a war between two African kingdoms in the fourteenth century, a war that altered nothing in the destiny of the world, even if a hundred thousand blacks perished in excruciating torment."
